The Chinese Embassy hosts National Day Reception

On September 29th , the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas held an online reception marking the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The Embassy is honored to have H.E. the most Honourable Cornelius Smith, O.N., GCMG, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas at the reception. We are most delighted and honored to have the Hon. Fredrick Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Public Service to visit the Embassy and address the reception in person.

Our thanks go to His Excellency, Sir Arthur Alexander Foulkes, former Governor-General, Dame Janet Bostwick, former President of the Senate and Foreign Minister, executives and members of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers' Federation, and friends from all walks of life for celebrating this important occasion with us.

In her remarks, Ambassador Dai Qingli went through China's journey of development and introduced China's position on issues related to fighting the pandemic and tackling climate change. She congratulated the new Bahamas government on its assumption of office and expressed her readiness to foster new progress of China-Bahamas relations.

The Embassy also presented a cultural program for the audience which is performed by professional and amateur artists both from China and The Bahamas.
