Chinese Premier Li Keqiang congratulates Philip Brave Davis on assuming office as the new Bahamian PM

On September 20, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang sent a congratulatory message to the Hon. Philip Brave Davis on his assuming office as the new Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

In his message, Premier Li Keqiang extended warm congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister Davis on behalf of the Chinese government and in his own name.

Premier Li said, The Bahamas is an important country in the Caribbean. China sees The Bahamas as an important co-operation partner for China in the region. In the past 24 years of diplomatic relations, the China-Bahamas friendly co-operation in various fields has made steady progress. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, China and The Bahamas have worked in solidarity and partnership to safeguard the health, safety and well-being of our peoples.

Premier Li underscored the great importance China places on its relations with The Bahamas. He expressed commitment to working with Prime Minister Davis and the new Bahamas government to promote greater progress of China-Bahamas friendship and co-operation in order to deliver greater benefit to the two countries and peoples.
