Chinese Embassy Handed Over COVID-19 Medical Supplies to The Bahamas

On June 9, the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas donated a batch of COVID-19 PPEs to the Ministry of Health of The Bahamas. H.E. Ambassador Huang Qinguo and Mr. Audley G. Bain, Deputy Director of Supplies Management Agency of Public Hospital Authority, jointly attended the handover ceremony and signed the handover certificate.

Ambassador Huang said, since the outbreak of the COVID-19, the Bahamian government has taken strict containment measures and yielded positive outcome. We believe that, with the joint efforts of the government and people, The Bahamas will defeat the virus and restore normal economic and social activities. China stands ready to provide further assistance to Caribbean countries including The Bahamas as its ability permits.

On behalf of the Ministry of Health of The Bahamas, Mr. Bain expressed gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its precious assistance, saying that these supplies will play an important role in fighting against the COIVD-19 in The Bahamas and the Ministry of Health looks forward to further cooperating with Chinese side.

This is the fourth time that China has ever provided medical assistance to The Bahamas since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
