The Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas Held Reception Celebrating the 2018 Chinese Spring Festival

On 8 February 2018, Ambassador of China to The Bahamas Mr. Huang Qinguo and his wife Madame Zheng Chuncao held a reception celebrating the 2018 Chinese Spring Festival. Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling, Governor-General of The Bahamas, the Honourable Peter Turnquest, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Honourable Carl Bethel, Attorney-General and Minister of Legal Affairs, the Honourable Darren Henfield, Minister of Foreign Affairs, other Bahamian friends, diplomats, local Chinese and representatives of Chinese enterprises, altogether over 200 people attended the reception.

Ambassador Huang wished all guests a happy and prosperous new year, introduced the CPC’s 19th National Congress, China’s recent progress made in economic and social development, China’s achievements in diplomacy and the bilateral relationship between China and The Bahamas. Ambassador Huang emphasized that China is ready to work with the Bahamian government to further promote mutual political trust, deepen win-win cooperation and exchanges in all respects, and further enhance the welfare of our two peoples.

The Honourable Darren Henfield spoke highly of the cooperation between our two countries in the areas of tourism, trade, financial service and agriculture, appreciated China’s support in Bahamas development, and expected a to brighter future of China- Bahamas friendship.
