Updated Requirements for HS/HDC QR Code by the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas

In order to reduce the risk of cross-border transmission of Covid-19, and to protect the health and safety of people both in China and abroad, the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas has updated the requirements for application for HS /HDC QR Code as the following:

I. Effective from 25nd February, 2021, the Embassy will only accept application for HS/HDC QR Code from passengers who depart from The Bahamas and will transit less than twice en route to China.

II. The following materials need to be submitted via the website of http://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/ when applying for a HS/HDC QR Code:

i. bio-data page of passport;

ii. both Nucleic Acid test result and IgM Serum Antibody test result issued within 48 hours (two days) by the following testing institutions in The Bahamas: Doctor's Hospital (for nucleic acid test only), and Bonaventure Medical Laboratory (for both nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests;

iii. full itinerary (from The Bahamas to China);

iv. proof of residence in The Bahamas (short-term visitors to The Bahamas need to submit a copy of latest immigration stamp page on the passport), foreign passengers should provide in addition valid Chinese visa or residence permit for foreigners);

V. COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (if the applicant has received the vaccination).

III. Special reminders

i. Self-quarantine before the trip. Passengers bound for China must take measures for personal protection and strict self-quarantine after completing the Nucleic Acid test and IgM Serum Antibody test.

ii. The Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas will examine relevant applications on weekdays, weekends and holidays.

iii. When applying for an HS/HDC QR Code, make sure to fill in the relevant information truthfully, accurately, and completely. Otherwise, if the application be rejected, any loss caused shall be born by the applicant.

iv. The applicants, who insist on transiting in The Bahamas or leaving for a third country for transit while failing to meet the transit requirements, shall take full responsibility for any loss incurred from being unable to go to China.

v. The procedures or requirements for digital Health Declaration Form issuance may be different in transiting countries or regions. Please check with the relevant Chinese Embassies or Consulates, airlines for further details.
